The Great Smoky Mountains national park is one of the most visited parks in the US. Its beautiful and easily accessible. This old mountain range includes forested slopes, a variety of hiking trails and rushing rivers. Check this site for more park info and history.

I took my inspiration for this months yarn from:

and mixed all of  that with the “smoky” name as well as a desire to give you, the club member, a range of colors and yarns to play with this year. I’ve just mailed out this great summer yarn in the new club color.  I hope you’ll like it! 

I’m about ready to mail out the Greece mailing for the Overseas Adventure Club. Its going to go out a few days early. I didn’t think anyone would mind getting lovely luscious hand dyed silk merino yarn a little earlier than expected!!

This month’s mailing will include a fingerless mitt pattern. There is plenty of yarn in the skein to knit several pairs or a short scarf or cowl to wear with the mitts.

Can’t post a picture – that would spoil the surprise!

The Grand Canyon shipment has gone out and some members are starting to receive their packages. I hope everyone is enjoying them!

Start dreaming……of Fiji……

The Sock Yarn Travel Club is underway. Sign ups have started. The overseas Adventure will start in January and “tickets” can be purchase from now until Dec 15 to join this exciting trip. The first destination will be Fiji!

Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to start the new year than a yarn-cation to Fiji- nice warm, sunshine, lush green foliage, relaxing pace, coconut palms on the beach, drinks with paper umbrellas……
